- Student teaching represents both an end and a beginning in the journey of art educators. Our eight student teachers began their journeys in class by learning about theory and pedagogy, planning and practice, feathering their nests with knowledge for times when they would need it most. One critical time occurs when they are gently nudged from the college nest, and the process of forming praxis begins as our student teachers venture out into their host schools to discover first-hand the mysteries and joys of teaching art to young people. The Art of Student Teaching 2015 exhibition portrays that brave journey from the nest. It showcases the talents and imagination of the students and the guidance and mentorship of cooperating teachers from host schools.
