BFA and MA Art Education Adjunct Faculty Positions

Moore College of Art & Design has opportunities for part-time faculty members to teach in the BFA and MA Art Education degree programs in the upcoming fall semester. A master’s degree; some college-level teaching experience; and evidence of professional activity is required.

The Art Education BFA program has an opportunity for a part-time faculty to teach a course ELL through Art Education on Tuesday evening from 6:40 – 9:30. Candidates must be knowledgeable in current methods, strategies and resources in teaching English Language Learners in an art teaching environment.

The Art Education MA program has an opportunity for a part-time faculty to teach an online course Technology for Special Populations. Candidates must be knowledgeable about current multimedia applications and how to integrate these applications with specialized assisted technologies in an art teaching environment. Prior teaching online is preferred

Salary commensurate with experience and is subject to the collective bargaining agreement with Moore Federation of Teachers.

CURRENT STAFF POSITIONS

Position:                 Director of Development
Reports to:             President

Senior Manager:     Senior Managers are responsible for implementing the strategic direction of their department in alignment with the College Strategic Plan and in consultation with the President and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.  As experts in their field, Senior Managers take a leadership role in the College, managing their team to fulfill the mission of their department.

Purpose:     Responsible for planning and implementing of all fund-raising for the College.  Manages day-to-day operations of the Development Office, including oversight of the Annual Fund, Visionary Woman Awards, planned giving and Alumni Affairs programs.  Responsible for managing capital campaign efforts.

Requirements:

  • Ability to plan, manage and implement the fundraising goals of the College which include the Annual Fund, the Sarah Peter Society, Capital Campaign, Legacy Society and other development initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least six years’ experience in fund raising, preferably in a college or university environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Experience with Raisers Edge, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of donor/wealth management systems.
  • Knowledge of Philadelphia-area fund raising community, especially knowledge of individual major donors and prospects.
  • Knowledge of capital resource development.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

Plans and organizes the development program to meet financial goals agreed upon by the Director, President and the Board. Oversees Annual Fund and Alumni Affairs programs and staff. Direct coordinator of special events including visionary woman awards. Organizes cultivation of major prospects with the goal of developing a proactive major gift program. Supports the President and Board in capital campaign planning, implementation and securing contributions. Responsible for personally cultivating and soliciting a limited number of capital campaign prospects. Manages and develops strategies for all corporate, foundation and public sector prospects to fund College priorities. Liaison to the Development Committee and the Visionary Woman Awards Committee. Participates in setting the College’s fund raising priorities with the President and the Board. Drafts proposals for major individual prospects, corporations, foundations and public sector entities. Oversees preparation of periodic development reports. Directs stewardship activities for all major contributors: individuals, corporations, foundations and public sector entities. Monitors development of department budget and expenditures. Supervises 3 other staff who report to the Development Director.

DIRECTOR OF GRADUATE STUDIES

POSITION: Moore College of Art & Design is seeking an experienced and innovative 
administrative, marketing and recruitment professional for the position of Director of Graduate Studies. This position reports to the Academic Dean and will provide leadership on all matters related to graduate enrollment with an emphasis on marketing, recruitment and retention. The Director of Graduate Studies directly supervises the graduate program managers, graduate admissions processes and production of print and online marketing materials, recruitment and program specific promotional pieces. The Director of Graduate Studies is responsible for budget planning and fiscal management of the graduate programs; the evaluation and documentation related to accreditation reporting; tracking annual outcomes assessment activities; graduate course scheduling and faculty hiring processes; and the planning, marketing and coordination of recruitment and annual program events.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates will have strong skills in management and the ability 
to coordinate and lead the work of multiple projects in coordination with appropriate faculty, 
staff and areas of the college in support of institutional enrollment goals. A clear understanding of, and experience with, the strategic role that marketing and communication plans, customer cultivation and targeted outreach play in effective recruitment and retention. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate and utilize data in planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written and will have a strong design aesthetic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art/design graduate education and for recruitment. S/he will have knowledge of and experience with online marketing; the strategic use of social media and the production oversight of printed recruitment and marketing materials. Flexible hours in support of the graduate programs are a must. The ideal candidate must have strong people skills and demonstrate innovative leadership and ability to work in a collaborative team environment including proven success in effectively managing people and events. 
 
A master’s degree or terminal degree in a discipline in art or design or arts management; a 
minimum of 2-5 years enrollment management, leadership experience or other highly 
comparable field within higher education or arts organization are required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials.

Position:              Program Coordinator, Continuing Education (Youth Programs)
Reports To:         Co-Director for Continuing Education

Purpose:              Responsible for providing the administrative support for CE youth programs implementation and administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Youth programs implementation including registrar functions; student and faculty support services, evaluation; special events; financial services such as deposits and refunds.
  • Manage classroom supplies and inventory; support increased cost-effectiveness of supplies through vendor bids, development of sharing procedures and investigating alternative supplies.
  • Coordinate class administrative tasks.
  • Support administration of scholarship programs.
  • Maintain reporting mechanisms for enrollment, inquiries, promotions and business plan.
  • Database entry & support for the prospective students database, mailing, instructor and student databases.
  • Serve as customer service contact for telephone and walk-ins.
  • Maintain public email address.  Disseminate inquiries and questions to staff as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and provide administrative support for marketing activities including website, social media and other communication tools
  • Monitor inquiry to registration conversion.  Support through customer service, consistent contact & follow up.
  • Assist with department-wide projects and special events as requested by co-directors.
  • Develop proficiency with PowerCampus, Hobson CRM and Excel.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • BA or equivalent
  • Familiarity of studio art
  • Minimum 3 years experience with office and educational programs preferred.

YOUTH PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS

POSITION: The Continuing Education Department at Moore College of Art & Design has opportunities for part-time instructors with undergraduate degrees, teaching certification and/or equivalent professional experience to teach courses in the following areas: fine arts (two dimensional and three dimensional), photography, fashion, jewelry design, animation and illustration.  Fall and spring courses take place on Saturdays during a 10-week semester.  Summer classes take place during a five-week, week day semester.
