2011 VISIONARY WOMAN SCHOLARS
Tal Bavli is from Be’er Sheva, Israel, where she attended Omer High School, and intends to major in Photography & Digital Arts. She comes to us as a first year student, having just recently completed her mandatory military service in Israel. She served as an Intelligence Sergeant in the Israeli Defense Force. Tal has worked extensively with the Israeli youth movement. Tal is also a recipient of our Business Leaders in the Arts scholarship.  

Skye Bolluyt is from Easton, PA, and was home schooled. She plans to major in Illustration. Skye has taken classes at the Baum School of Art, and has taught art to participants in a Girl Scout Day Camp. Skye is YMCA certified for babysitting and was a leader in their training course. Skye is also a recipient of our Emerging Leaders in the Arts scholarship. 

Lisa Eckenrode attended Upper Darby High School and is from Drexel Hill, PA. She intends to major in Fine Arts with an Emphasis in 2D. Lisa was the recipient of the Outstanding Accomplishments in Art award for the past two years at her school. She has been a member of her marching band and the National Art Honor Society. 

Katherine Jackson is from Lake Worth, FL, and attended the Dreyfoos High School of Kate plans to major in Illustration at Moore. She attended the pre-college program at University of the Arts, and was a member of the National Arts Honor Society.  She was the only student on the Board of Directors and website management team of the Friends of the West Palm Beach Library. 

Michelle Kye is from Newtown, Pennsylvania, and attended Council Rock High School North. She intends to major in Fashion Design at Moore.  She has been a member of the National Honors Society, the Spanish Honors Society, and her high school’s Cooking Club.  Also a flutist, she has been a performing member of her high school marching band for four years and the Southampton Community Band for five years. 

Suel-Gi Lee has been attending high school in Cumming, GA, but is from Korea. She plans to major in Illustration. She has taken private art lessons and was a key member of her high school’s National Art Honor Society.

Nicole Melnicky is from Surrey, Canada, and attended the Langley Fine Arts School. She participated in the Creative Process Program at her school, and has volunteered many hours at the Surrey Museum, working with young children. Nicole served on her school Student Council, played piano for the Royal Conservatory of Music, and has had eight years of first aid training. She was also an active member of the Conflict resolution Program at Langley. 

Davinica Nemtzow is from Lanesboro MA. She attended Mount Greylock Regional High School and plans to major in Illustration. 

Lydia Nobles is from Bangor, Maine, and intends to major in Fine Arts with an Emphasis in 2D. She attended the pre-college summer program at Delaware College of Art and Design. Along with her fellow art classmates, Lydia went to Italy to tour Verona, Florence, Rome, Assisi and Pisa, focusing on studying Italian Architecture and artwork. She volunteered at the St. Bernard Project, helping build houses for victims of Katrina in New Orleans and the St. Bernard District. Lydia is also a recipient of our Emerging Leaders in the Arts scholarship. 

Sabrina Salgado is from Erie, CO, and attended New Vista High School. She plans to major in Art Education here at Moore. Sabrina was a featured artist at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art in a teen art exhibition called Vivid Youth. She was awarded an honorable mention for her self-portrait Out of Sight currently displayed at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design.


2010 VISIONARY WOMAN SCHOLARS
Caitlin Carnes attended Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, and plans to major in Illustration at Moore. She has attended summer programs at Ringling College of Art and Design, Rhode Island School of Design, and Interlochen Academy. Caitlin was a member of the National Honors Society, the National Art Honors Society, and the Visual Arts House Council. She has also volunteered for Children’s Medical Services, the libraries at the Norton Art Museum, and the Race for the Arts. Caitlin was also accepted into Moore’s Emerging Leaders in the Arts program.
 
Stephanie Dudderar attended Atholton High School in Columbia, Maryland, and plans to major in Illustration. She was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, and in 2008 was recognized by the President’s Educational Awards Program. Stephanie also attended the National Gallery of Art’s high school seminar.

Violet Gorman attended Upper Perkiomen High School in Pensburg, Pennsylvania, and wants to major in Photography & Digital Arts at Moore. She was the 2009 first place winner in Digital Photography at her school, and the 2010 recipient of the Gulack Scholarship from the Upper Perkiomen School District. In school, Violet also served as the president of the Reading Olympics, and the art and design director for the Writing Club. She has also volunteered her time to several service projects, including working at food pantries, clothing donation centers, and soup kitchens. Violet was also accepted into Moore’s Emerging Leaders in the Arts program.
 
Leyla Khanna attended the British International School in New Delhi, India, and plans to major in Fashion Design here at Moore. She is a citizen of both India and Turkey. Leyla has worked young cancer patients through the Can Kids organization, attended a workshop at the University of the Arts in London, and a summer program at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. She served as the Head of her school’s Environmental Club, and as a Co-Chair of the Yearbook. Leyla also participated in an exchange program with the Beijing International School.

Kaitlyn Reynolds attended Harrison School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Lakeland Florida, and plans to major in Illustration. She was a member of the Book Club, and the National Honors Society. Kaitlyn has also worked for her school’s Stage Crew, and Paint Crew, and has exhibited her work at the Polk Museum of Art, and the Mitchell Gallery in Lakeland, Florida. Kaitlyn was also accepted into Moore’s Emerging Leaders in the Arts program.

2009 VISIONARY WOMAN SCHOLARS
Rebecca Collins plans to major in Fashion Design. She is from Scotia, NY, and attended Scotia-Glenville High School. She took college level course at the Community College of Oswego while in high school. Rebecca has done extensive independent research on the fashion design, and has maintained correspondence with several college students studying fashion to gain insight into the industry.

Celina Curry plans to major in Illustration. She is from Allentown, PA, and attended Willaim Allen High School. She attended the PA Governor’s School for the Arts, and also took classes at the Baum School of Art. Celina was on the swim team for three years, and also participated in Choir and her school’s A Capella group.

Rebecca Marquez plans to major in Art History. She is from Crofton, MD, and attended Arrundel High School. She attended the pre-college summer intensive at MICA, and has already exhibited widely throughout Anne Arrundel County. Rebecca has volunteered as a cook for The Knights of Columbus charity meals, and ran several charity races.

2008 VISIONARY WOMAN SCHOLARS
Elise Anzini is from Middleton, NY and plans on majoring in Illustration. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Arts Honor Society. Elise was on the editorial staff for her local literary magazine. As a junior in high school, she created a limited edition of drawings illustrating the poems of Lewis Carroll. Elise is an Illustration major.

Kristen Birdsey attended Hopewell Valley High School in Titusville, NJ. She has been very involved in theater since she was in the second grade. Kristen is not only a talented artist but also is a serious scholar of literature and ecology. Kirsten is an Illustration major.

Kendall Farrell attended the Dryfoos School of the Arts and is from West Palm Beach, FL. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Arts Honor Society.  Kendall has assisted with the care and treatment of injured wildlife at the Folk Peterson Wildlife Care Center. Kendall is an Illustration major.

Rebecca Ott is from Fredericksburg, VA, and attended James Monroe High School where she participated in Latin, Art, and Key clubs. She was also a member of the Youth Orchestra of Prince William. Rebecca is an Illustration major.

Rachel Sadler, a Fashion Design major from Flower Mound, TX, served as lead costume designer for several theatrical and choir productions at her school. Rachel volunteered for three years at Spirit Horse Therapeutic Riding Center, where she assisted children with special needs through equine assisted healthcare. Rachel is a Fashion Design major.

Lisa Suszek is from Colchester, CT and attended Saint Bernard High School. She was the editor-in chief for her yearbook. Lisa was a member of the string ensemble and orchestra at her high school, and served as captain of her fencing team. She is an Art Education major.

2007 VISIONARY WOMAN SCHOLARS
Brianna Barton comes from West Grove, PA where she attended the Avon Grove Charter High School. Brianna took Life Drawing classes in Moore’s Young Artists Workshop and has painted two large-scale murals. She was also the organizer of the first charity fashion show at Avon Grove High School. She is a Fine Art major with a 2D emphasis.

Sara Lenton is from Lebanon, PA, attended Lebanon High School where she was a member of Student Council for two years and in the National Honor Society for three years. She is also an accomplished musician, with seven years of participation in band, jazz, choir, and orchestra. Sara was also on the junior varsity and varsity basketball, field hockey, and softball teams in high school. Sara is an Illustration major. 

Rachel Luthy joins us from Rexburg, ID, where she attended Madison High School. Rachel has been active in debate, speech, and student congress activities while in high school. She was first-place winner of the General Federation of Women’s Club Poetry Contest in 2006 and was a finalist for the Idaho License Plate Contest in 2005. Rachel was also asked to be the honorary guest speaker at the Rexburg Women’s Civic Club Anniversary Meeting. Rachel majors in Textile Design.

Victoria May
is from Matthews, NC, and attended the acclaimed North Carolina School for the Arts. Victoria has worked as a lifeguard for several summers, attended Penland School of Crafts, and was awarded the Martha Dunnigan Fund for the Visual Arts scholarship in 2006. Victoria majors in Fine Arts with a 2D emphasis.

2006 VISIONARY WOMAN SCHOLARS
Michelle Clements comes from Olney, MD where she attended Sherwood High School. She was an active member of the National Art Honor Society in her junior and senior years, and has pursued courses in figure drawing and Chinese painting, independent from her high school. Her hobbies include playing the cello, kickboxing, and skiing. Michelle is a Textile Design major.

Laura Guzzo is from Woodbury, NJ, where she attended West Deptford High School. She was a member of her high school marching band, concert band, and choir. Laura was also the recording secretary for the Gloucester County Red Cross Youth Group for four years, was a member of the National Foreign Language Honor Society, and attended Moore’s Summer Art & Design Institute. She is an Illustration major.

Brigette Indelicato is from Dingmans Ferry, PA, and attended Delaware Valley High School. Brigette was inducted into her the National Honor Society, volunteered as an algebra tutor, and was a member of the Student Association. She was also a member of her school’s soccer and swim teams. Brigette majors in Graphic Design.

Dana Osburn graduated from the Pottsville Area High School, in Pottsville, PA. In high school, Dana was a member of the National Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society, and the National French Honor Society.  She was also an officer in her school’s Sketch Club, and was the president of the Drama Club. Dana is majoring in Fine Arts, with a 2D emphasis.
