The Senior Dinner on May 8, 2012 is for seniors only. It is a time when seniors dress up to have a fun and fancy moment with their peers over dinner and wine. After dinner, the Alumnae Association president inducts seniors into the Alumnae Association and gives more information about how to keep in touch with Moore and use the Alumnae Association. This is also the time when the yearbooks are passed out. It is a great way to end four years of hard work.
The Senior Party on May 9, 2012 is for seniors, faculty, and staff. It is an informal party with beer or wine and hoagies or BBQ. It takes place on campus and is from 5 pm - 7 pm. It’s a fun way for staff and faculty to spend time with the graduating seniors and congratulate them on their achievements.
The Senior Show Closing Reception on May 12, 2012 is the day before Commencement and the afternoon of the Fashion Show. This event is specifically for friends and family to interact with seniors and enjoy the artwork displayed at the Senior Show and some refreshments. It is less formal than the opening reception (which is a professional setting meant for career networking).
The Fashion Show on May 12, 2012 and Commencement Ceremony on May 13, 2012 are the final events of a week of celebrations. To commemorate Moore’s 160th anniversary, these two events were held on campus in Aviator Park for the first time and it has now become a tradition. The white tent looks great on the green grass among the trees nestled between Moore College, The Franklin Institute, Logan Fountain and The Academy of Natural Science. Both the Fashion Show and Commencement really highlight the many achievements of the wonderful women who are the Class of 2012.
Moore College of Art & Design’s 163rd Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 13 at 11:00 am in Aviator Park at the corner of Race Street & The Parkway.
