Rosemary Murphy

Adjunct faculty, Graphic Design

I've been teaching Brand Identity to graphic design seniors for over eight years and since last year I've also taught digital imaging to sophomore graphic design and illustration majors.

I like to work with students knowing that they will be colleagues in the near future. As the owner of Murphy design, I try to provide as much information about the similarities and differences of the real world versus the studio at school.

I get pretty excited about design projects and like to talk about how I think as a designer and how to make design opportunities happen. In class, we break down large projects into smaller, doable tasks and it's exciting to build a brand over a semester. I love it when students ask great questions and see something more or something comparable out in the world!

Moore is a great environment and I love the familiar atmosphere and the opportunity to mix with faculty in other disciplines. Moore provides a supportive environment for each student, the facilities and labs are terrific and the location allows for easy impromptu access for all the city has to offer.

Rosemary Murphy was recently named the 2012 AIGA Philadelphia Fellow.
