Moore alumnae care!
Through community outreach programs, Alumnae give back. In past years, for example, with Lids for Kids, Hundreds of hats were created as alumnae participated in Lids for Kids. The hats were distributed to children in Philadelphia area hospitals and conducted workshops in those hospitals helping the children create their own hats. For several years on Philadelphia Cares Day, alumnae designed and painted murals for public schools enhancing the daily experience of those children. For Frankie's World, a daycare center for children with special medical needs, alumnae created a mural enlivening the exterior of the facility. In conjunction with the art education department at Moore, alumnae taught an after-school art program culminating in an exhibition and reception for the budding artists.
2010 brings collaboration with Adopt a Pig. Alumnae are invited to paint piggy banks that will help fund art therapy programs for children diagnosed with cancer at area hospitals.
