Careers

As a career changing program the MFA in Interior Design prepares candidates to become integral members of a design team for the built environment upon graduation.

The Locks Career Center offers a wide array of services useful to masters’ candidates at every step of their graduate experience. Along with such resources as the electronic job bank COOL: Career Opportunities On-Line, information on artists’ residencies, grants, exhibitions, competitions, and community services is compiled and regularly updated. The Career Center also provides assistance in developing résumés and curriculum vitae, and makes available books, templates, and special seminars to help artists, educators and designers shape a working life.

Each graduate student is assigned a Career Center liaison with whom they will meet to create and facilitate a personalized action plan for professional development. Upon completion of degree requirements, the Career Center continues to provide masters’ candidates with intensive support in their employment searches, including help with mock interviews, business correspondence, salary negotiations, and networking opportunities.
