Packing materials, shampoo bottles, corks and camping tents - these are just some of the raw materials Moore students are using to create functional art as part of the campus-wide recycling project MOOREcycle. For the third year in a row, the College is partnering with Trenton-based TerraCycle, one of the fastest-growing green companies in the world, on the project. The partnership was made possible because of the connection with Moore alumna Lori Anselm ’87, a Textile Design major who is a senior product and accessories designer with the company.
The video below from a workshop on February 20, 2014 features Foundation Chair Lynn Palewicz and Ms. Anselm, talking about the Moore/TerraCyle partnership, the company’s mission and the work students are creating for MOOREcycle.
MOOREcycle is a free public event scheduled for April 24 from 11 am – 2 pm on Race Street in front of the College. Student creations will be on display and there will be lunch, a dunk tank, free popcorn and snow cones.
