Beyond is the 2013 annual juried alumnae exhibition, on view in the Wilson Gallery from January 26 through March 16, 2013. The alumnae reception for the artists and the exhibition is Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 5:30-7:00 pm. Beyond includes work addressing two themes: Socially-engaged art and Altered Reality.
How do you change the world through your art is the question answered by Moore alumnae for the socially engaged portion of Beyond. This show documents the process of socially-engaged projects conceived and executed by Moore alumnae Brianna Barton ’11/Jackie Maloney ’11, Michelle Ortiz ’00 and Michelle Wilson ’00.
Allison Black ’93, Wendy Liss ’84 and Carissa Marinelli ’12 have incorporated their art into an environment and created an altered reality.
The exhibition jurors were Kaytie Johnson, Rochelle F. Levy Director and Curator, The Galleries at Moore; Shelley Spector, Artist and Director, Spector Gallery/Projects; Adelina Vlas, Assistant Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art.
