When I walked through the doors at Moore, it just seemed like the right place for me to be, so I made my decision then and there.
I enjoyed going to Moore because it’s unique. Being in an all-girls school and having small class sizes made it easy to establish camaraderie. You really have an opportunity to get to know your teachers on both a personal and professional level. The intimacy at Moore is something I don’t think I would have experienced if I’d gone anywhere else.
While at Moore, I interned for Adam Lippes and gained experience in womenswear design and textile design. The internship was valuable in that it made me realize what I didn’t want to do.
Today, I work as an associate designer for Chaps | Ralph Lauren. At the beginning of my career, I wanted to be noticed by my bosses, so I worked hard (probably to the point of being a perfectionist), which would be my advice to current students and recent graduates. Oh, and remember, “What man has done, woman can do (better).”
