I interned with Charlotte Ronson after completing a short internship with Halston last spring. I wanted to do an internship in New York and try a smaller fashion house, one that was less formal than Halston, to see what was the best fit for me professionally.
At Charlotte Ronson, I worked on anything from computer graphics for store window displays, organizing line sheets and assisting with sewing during fittings. My internship sponsor has been a great mentor; she’s an industry insider who continues to be accessible and supportive.
I commuted three days a week to New York. The internship fellowship went a long way in helping with travel and other expenses. Having the perspective of two internships helped me focus my career goal on a larger fashion house. It also helped focus my senior collection on something somewhere between the formal style of Halston and the relaxed style of Charlotte Ronson. My collection is a resort womenswear collection.
