As an emerging curator, I aspire to deconstruct and interpret work that contributes to an ongoing dialogue with members of various international communities. I am very much interested in socially driven art, more specifically public and community art projects that are devoted to social justice.
My primary reason for attending Moore was for their rare undergraduate degree in Curatorial Studies. With these courses as in introduction to an emphasized interest in museum studies, it was not until my junior year at Moore that my undergraduate education became exceedingly challenging, but infinitely rewarding. I also successfully applied for the Sis Grenald International Travel Fellowship for my junior internship requirement. With my undergraduate education coming to a close, these two experiences became the foundation for a more developed educational journey and transition into the workplace.
I did my junior internship at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) in Hollywood, CA. My internship responsibilities as a production and gallery attendant varied from assisting the artist Gina Osterloh with her studio and gallery residency to organizing production deadlines.
The greatest thing about attending Moore are the many networking opportunities offered by the supportive staff, including the fellowship and internship opportunities.
