I chose Moore because of its reputation and small-community feeling. The class sizes are very comfortable and you do not have to fight for time with your teachers. The Art Education program is wonderful and the teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They introduced many teaching strategies to fully prepare you for any teaching job. I like how the program integrates teaching children with special needs into every class.

I really enjoyed my Art Methods class. That class made me officially chose art education as my major. I learned how to prepare lessons, interact with students and classroom management skills. I was able to practice public speaking by demonstrating a lesson in front of my class and getting feedback from other students.

I am student teaching this spring at the Russell Byers Charter School in Philadelphia. I’m very excited to start teaching and to begin my career. This opportunity will help me understand what kind of teacher I want to be.
