Art Education majors participate in formal training within the classroom as student teachers. This 9 credit student teaching requirement icnludes 10 weeks of full-time student teaching and attendance at a teaching seminar for 14 weeks. Under the supervision of the chair and the faculty of the Art Education department, these majors will receive an assignment at a K-12 school working with a certified teacher. In addition to student teaching, majors in this department may learn related skills in museums, community art centers, summer camps and parks and recreation departments.
