2012, Recipient of Marian Locks Senior Award
When I decided to go back to school for interior design, I knew that I didn’t want to become “another number floating around,” like I was at a larger university. When I requested information about Moore, I received a handwritten note from the chair of the department – that meant something to me, and I knew Moore was not going to be like those other schools.
At Moore, I went from being a student lost in large lecture halls to someone who thrives in small classes where I can ask questions and interact with faculty. I also like that Moore prepares you for careers. The College provides students with a focus and direction that won't leave you asking “what now” after graduation.
I completed an internship this summer and continue to work at Group G LLC, an architecture, interiors and community planning design firm in Old City. There, I participate in all aspects of the design process, from marketing proposals to construction observation. It’s an invaluable experience to work for someone who has a genuine interest in teaching me about the field.
