“Culture in the Classroom” is designed to link the classroom to cultural opportunities and careers in the arts. Students are required to attend cultural events in the context of ongoing structured opportunities to engage with visual arts leaders and to learn what these leaders do. By meeting and talking with professionals involved in these events, students learn firsthand about career opportunities in arts and cultural organizations. Faculty further extend the experience by creating classroom assignments that integrate the cultural experience into the curriculum and eventually into students’ artistic skills.

On April 3, 2013, Interior Design Students visited the Wilma Theater on Broad Street to see the play "Under the Whaleback" by Richard Bean, directed by Blanka Zizka.
