The first professor at Moore to challenge me was Frank Hyder in my basic drawing class. I had never taken a college level art class, but that didn’t stop Frank from pushing me to be the best artist I could be. There was a constant dialogue about art, life, and technique in every one of his classes, and I noticed that was a trend among most of my teachers at Moore.

I was in awe of my classmates and their talent was inspiring to say the least. As a non-traditional student, I initially felt out of place but was soon welcomed by students who were ten years my junior. I learned from them and it was a motivator for me to strive artistically while I was at Moore.

Graduate Keeps Moore College in Touch with Students
article from the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Studying abroad for a semester in Florence, Italy was the most rewarding experience of my life thus far! I learned about some of the great works of art in my art history classes at Moore. However, it wasn’t until I saw The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli and Michelangelo's Pieta in person that I was emotionally moved and proud to be an artist and designer at Moore. I only hope more students will be able to have the same experience.
