6:00- 8:00 pm
Location: Juntos 2029 South 8th Street, Philadelphia, Pa.
“Aqui y Allá’ is a transnational public art project that I created and directed in the summer of 2012. The project connected Mexican immigrant youth in South Philadelphia with youth in Chihuahua, Mexico to create a permanent mural in South Philadelphia.
This documentary will be presented along with Juntos, a Latino immigrant community led organization in Philadelphia fighting for our human rights as workers, parents, youth, and immigrants.
I invite you to come and see the video documentary, which shares first hand testimonials of young Mexican immigrant students in Philadelphia and Mexico and how they have been impacted by immigration.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion community leaders in Juntos. The panelists will discuss the current state of immigration in the U.S. and how you can get involved and become a leader in the immigrant rights movement here in Philadelphia.
