Nordstrom Stores Strut Out Moore Artwork

For Immediate Release
March 24, 2010

(Philadelphia, PA) Nine of Moore's 12 six-foot boots, Moore Footsteps, will be on view at Nordstrom's Cherry Hill and King of Prussia stores, March 22 to April 5. The boots are a prominent part of their celebration of the Cherry Hill Nordstrom's one-year anniversary.

What's the tie in? Nordstrom started as a shoe store. Moore Alumnae Affairs Director Doris Chorney suggested the boots as a visible way for the store to celebrate the occasion. Six of the boots are on display at King of Prussia and four are at the Cherry Hill store. Nordstrom made a wonderful grant to the College in gratitude for the loan of the artwork.

Four boots will go to the Cherry Hill store and five will go to the King of Prussia store. The boots will be spread throughout the stores.

On view at the King of Prussia Nordstrom's are boots by alumnae artists' Heather Bryson '92, Dee Collins '93, Lonni Rossi '70, Jane Walentas '66 and Cathey White '96. At the Cherry Hill Mall, Nordstrom will display the work of alumnae Karen Daroff '70, Gail Gaines '89, Terri Sauln '92 and a boot that was the collaboration of three alumnae: Aubrey Costello '07, Laura Graham '03 and Darla Jackson '03, who also developed the six-foot boot design and cast the boot design.

Moore Footsteps was part of Moore's 160th Anniversary celebration held last year. The anniversary marked Moore's legacy as the first and only visual arts college for women.
