June 24, 2010

(Philadelphia, PA) Moore alumna Ann Marie Stiliha ‘72 has established a new scholarship to provide support to a Moore student with unmet financial need.

The Ann Marie Stiliha ’72 Scholarship was established this month and may be awarded to an incoming student in any major, with preference given to a student who is majoring in Art Education. The roughly $3,000 yearly gift may be awarded to one student or more than one student. The student will be selected by the Director of Admissions or the Director of Financial Aid.

Stiliha earned her bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Moore and her master’s degree in Education from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. She was an art education teacher for 35 years in public schools in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area, retiring as chair of the Art Department at Wyoming Valley West High School. Her art classes have been featured on the local television news.

A generous supporter of Moore over the years, Stiliha is a lifelong believer in the power of the arts to transform lives. She was recognized by Moore as a Distinguished Alumna in 2002.
