Besides the lure of a big city, I came to Moore for the small classes and wonderful professors. Philadelphia offers so many opportunities for emerging artists. There are galleries for every type of art. I enjoy exploring all that the Philadelphia gallery scene has to offer, especially on First Fridays.
I've formed really great relationships with my professors and they've been really helpful in developing my artwork. I also like the variety of classes offered at Moore.
I was thrilled when I won a contest to have my art review published in the artblog, a popular Philadelphia blog.
This semester, I participated in a project in a Critical Discourse class. Libby Rosof and Roberta Fallon (authors of the artblog) came to the classroom and discussed how to look at and write about art. Afterwards, we [the students] traveled to Old City during the First Friday art loop to write our own art reviews. My essay was chosen as the winner and was published.
