October 10, 2012

In July, the Moore community was saddened to learn of the death of Moore alumna and professor Deborah Warner '69. To honor Warner's long-lasting and exceptional contributions to Moore, the College has established the Deborah Warner '69 Scholarship Fund.

In addition to being an accomplished professional artist, Warner was a dedicated teacher and mentor to many students and alumnae. She began teaching at Moore in 1970 and continued until her retirement in June, 2010. During her career, Warner served Moore in many roles. She was director of the Young Artists Workshop, chair of the Art Education and Textile Design departments, Dean of the College, president of the Moore Federation of Teachers and faculty representative to the Board of Trustees & Managers.

Warner received the Distinguished Alumnae Award in 1999 and the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award in 2001.
