(Philadelphia, PA) Moore College of Art & Design is pleased to announce the appointment of Margaret Leahy as Graduate Program Manager in Interior Design at Moore College of Art & Design. Margaret served eleven years as the BFA Chair of Interior Design before returning to teaching full-time in fall 2009. Margaret's passion about socially responsible design along with her outstanding leadership will further strengthen the graduate programs and help it build a stronger future as it goes forward.

Educated at Duke University and Pratt Institute, from which she received an MS in environmental design, Margaret has over twenty five years of design experience both in New York and Philadelphia areas. She is active with both IDEC (Interior Design Educators Council) and EDRA (Environmental Design Research Association).

The MFA in Interior Design program at Moore is a first professional masters degree that emphasizes critical thinking, skill development, advanced research and socially responsible design as a means to prepare individuals with undergraduate degrees in other fields to become professional interior designers. Practical and theoretical work in studio and technical classes include residential and commercial contract design, materials and construction, manual drafting, CAD and other software, history, environmental theory, design research and business practice. Studio seminars and critiques afford candidates multiple opportunities to engage directly with experienced faculty and design experts in solving design issues.
