Brilliant Simplicity

Moore College of Art & Design and Metropolis magazine present a conversation with Editor-In-Chief Susan Szenasy and leading Philadelphia designers on the need for research in design. Szenasy will screen Brilliant Simplicity: 15 Designers Research Collaborate Innovate, a short film tracing new ideas, from inspiration to prototype, telling the stories of designers at work on making our world more energy efficient and healthy. Designers will be challenged to consider new approaches in their own work.

  • Susan Szenasy, Editor-in-Chief, Metropolis magazine
  • Andrew Dahlgren who, with his firm ADMK, is revitalizing the textile industry in the northeast US.   He has recently received two grants to do research and development of new processes for creating solutions for sustainable manufacturing.  His interesting professional path includes a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from North Carolina State University.
  • Max Zahniser is the founder and president of Praxis/Building Solutions and does consulting on Building and organization sustainability.  He is also a faculty member at Moore.  His education includes a degree in Architecture from Drexel University.
  • Ted  Singer is a designer at Plumbob/Onion Flats.  He specializes in sustainable architectural design and urban residential development.  He previously was a designer a McDonough+Partners.  He has a Master’s in Architecture form the University of Virginia.
