"Art educators, artists with disabilities, and community art and museum educators gathered for the 8th annual Art Education for Special Populations Symposium at Moore on November 12, 2016.

The keynote speaker was Dr. Suzanne Duvall-Zurinsky, who talked about her experience as an art educator, and her own work with her son who is on the autism spectrum.

A highlight of the symposium featured artists from the Center for Creative Works in Wynnewood, Pa. The six artists showed how they used adaptive tools to create their works.

The next symposium, "Going Beyond the Art Room: Engaging Diverse Learners in Museum and Community Arts Settings," will be held April 1, 2017, at Moore in partnership with the The Barnes Foundation, The Franklin Institute, and ArtWell.
