Moore requires a 240-hour internship for all BFA majors as part of its career-focused education. While internships may be paid or unpaid, all internships are funded through Moore's Internship Fellowship that provides each student with $1,000 towards the completion of the required internship experience.

This paid internship experience takes place during the summer between junior and senior year.

Internships provide real world experience and an important opportunity to develop a professional network in preparation for a career in art and design. Moore's sizable network of professional alumnae and employers helps place students in challenging and exciting internships, many of which lead to careers after graduation.

The Locks Career Center assists students to identify and secure internships that align with their skills, ambitions, professional and personal goals. Internship placements must be pre-approved by the department chair and faculty supervisor and a signed contract must be filed with the Locks Career Center before the internship starts.

Art Education majors must complete a 12-week supervised student teaching assignment that will be arranged through the Art Education Department.
